Once you reach our floor, walk down the hall and we will be there ready to greet you as the last door in the hallway!
What to expect for a school session
A school session brings speech and communication support into your child’s everyday learning environment. We work with families, teachers, and school teams to understand each child’s needs, build practical goals, and use engaging strategies that help children communicate with greater confidence.
When we do a school session, it is very similar to our clinic ones! Your child will know when they are meant to have a session or we will come to collect them for it, then we will go and find a quiet space to do our session! We will tailor the experience to you with fidgets, routine and trying to incorporate some fun into our sessions.
What is SSP (Speech Sounds Pics Approach)
SSP (Speech Sounds Pics Approach) is a visual, structured approach that supports children who find speech sounds difficult. It uses pictures and simple cues to make speech practice clear, engaging, and easier to carry over into everyday conversations and understand how sounds make up words! This approach is designed to support a child's phonemic awareness and reading skills!
What is AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication)
AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) includes tools and strategies that support a child’s communication when speech is difficult or not yet reliable. AAC may include gestures, signs, pictures, or a communication device, helping each child share their needs, ideas, and personality! By using AAC, it enables everyone that struggles to communicate and allows them to enjoy everyday communication such as expressing ideas, conversation, maintain independance and grow socially!
